Important: Its important to note that throughout the interface, GameCreate will always refer to dedicated game servers as servers, and the game server machines that host the game servers as Hosts.
The Game Overview page allows for the management of the Games themselves within the GameCreate system. This page introduces a new set of sub-tabs into GameCreate for the purpose of navigating and effecting specific options to the Game itself, which will effect all servers that exist within the Game group. Additionally you can navigate from the Games tab down though to specific game servers themselves, and only effect changes within a given game server. Any changes made in the sub tabs relating to games will effect all servers that exist within GameCreate for that game group on your domain.
Sub Tabs
Game Overview - This page you are reading
Game Configuration - Used to configure settings specific to the Game Type
Game Templates - Defines templates of variables to rapidly select multiple configurations changes for a server or group of servers.
Game Files - Add and edit configuration and other files that are applied to all servers for the given game type, these files are then created when the server is started, or restarted.
Game Properties - Create new variables for use in your Game Files, any variable created will be available in your Game Configuration for easy selection of multiple different settings on a per server basis, or when used with Game Templates you can group your defined variables together in powerful groups.
Game Permissions - Give users permission for all servers within a game type.
Game Overview
The Game overview allows either the modification of settings globally to the Game group, or also allows you to navigate to specific servers within that game group for effecting changes on a per server basis (not recommended for Files). Unless you are planning on making a one off change that will only effect a given server, it is recommended that you always make any file modifications to the global game group, and any changes required on a per server basis should be defined as a variable that can then be applied on a server to server basis.
Additional options outside of sub tabs are:
Server Status - Shows all servers in the game group in a list form, with the ability to start / stop and view host usage.
Temporary Servers - Allows you to define which of your hosts will act as temporary servers for a given game group.
Create a New Server - Create a new game server of the game type you are in.
Remove an Existing Server - Remove game servers from the game type you are in.
Game Hosts
As well as the ability to navigate though game servers for the game currently selected, you may also navigate the Hosts that currently have the game installed. The list of Hosts also identifies the number of game servers allowed to run on each given host for the game type selected, including permanent, and temporary servers in their list.
