Configuration Overview
Game Configuration page allows you to modify all standard game CVars in an easy to use interface, for conveience it also provides help topics on what each setting does. For settings that are shared between multiple servers that are not default, Templates can also be configured for a fast effective method of making pre-defined groups of settings that get applied. All template groups are generated in the Game tab.
Within the Game Configuration sub tab it is possible to change most major settings, or create entirely new settings by additing additional variables to the system. In this way you can define exactly what you wish other people to be able to change, and what values you will permit them to be changed to, making it an extremely flexible, and powerful system.
Each game will have different variables available depending on the gametype it is using, there are some variables that remain static however.
Server Templates
Server templates are derived from the Game configuration, and are game dependant. Any templates that are pre-defined by GameCreate will be available in the Add a template drop down selection. To add additional templated settings to your server, select the template and click add. Further it is possible to change the order by which these Templates are applied to your server when it is being started.
Server Properties
Sever properties are available which control specific states such as current game, where the game is located etc. What you can change depends on the state of the game server you are managing, some options will not be avaiable if the game server is currently running. The options available in server properties are:
Game - Shows the Game that the Game server is derived from
Host - Shows the host that the game server is running from
Host Interface - Which Host Interface (such as an IP Address) this server should run on and bind to. The Host Interface selection will only appear if a host has been assigned more than one interface via the Host Configuration tab.
Host Port - The port that the server will be running on.
Public Listing - If marked yes, the server will be added to the XML list of servers that is available for you to use.
Restart Schedule - You can control how you would prefer the restarts to occur, we recommend a restart every day however other options are available such as Only on Failure, every 2, and 3 hours.
Name - Name you would like for the server.
Maximum Players - Number of players you would like your server to support.
Game Properties
Each game have a different set of game specific properties. However several items will be available regardless of game type you're viewing, these are:
Command Line - All command lines are configurable on a per game or a game wide basis, while we recommend not changing this, should changes be required it is available. Changes can also make use of properties within the system so you can add values that change based on user or admin selection during server creation (both temporary and perm servers).
Max Players specifies the number of players the server will support
Rcon Password - Specifies the rcon, or admin password used by the game, while some games may use different definitions for the same control, for simplicity, we refer to all admin control as rcon password.
