Adding a host
Visit the Add New Host link under the Hosts tab in your GameCreate domain interface for setup instructions.
Editing an existing host
When editing a host the following options are available:
Interfaces: GameCreate supports the use of having more than one IP Address per host.
The Primary IP Address is the one which GameCreate logs in with and is used when assigning temporary servers an interface to use. It is also used when temporary servers are created.
Adding additional interfaces will add a new option to the Server Configuration area where a 'Host Interface' may be chosen when a Host is selected with more than one interface available.
Name: This is the name as to what this host is called under the GameCreate system. It is arbitrary, and does not need to match the hostname of your server. "Andrew's Host" or "games06" is a completly acceptable name.
Operating System: What operating system the machine is using
GameCreate Tokens: Each host that handles temporary server bookings must have a number of GameCreate tokens defined. Each time a game server is launched on the host, a predetermined amount of tokens are removed from the host's token jar (or pool) while this server is running, and returned when the server is no longer running. Different games require a different amount of tokens in order to be placed on any given host for temporary bookings. Setting this value to something reasonable (20 is a good starting number, or more if you want the host to support more simultaneous bookings). This has no effect on permanent servers placed on the host.
RAM: The amount of RAM on the system in Mb
GameCreate directory: The root directory which all Game Servers will run from regardless of game type. Traditionally for GameCreate this is c:\games (windows) or /games (linux)
Starting port for Temporary Servers: What port all game servers on this host will start at, regardless of game type.
While this value can be specified at game creation for public servers, temporary servers will start from this defined port and increment as required depending on the game.
