Adding or Editing a File
Adding or Editing a file can be done simply by this page, the file can contain anything you like, and will be rendered with anything in the contents, together with the results of the variables that have been used within the file, if any.
Name: Descriptive name of the file. This name is used to identify the file within GameCreate - it has no affect on the servers
Default: Multiple files may be entered into GameCreate, each sharing the same filename. Of the files with the same filename, only one can be used for the game server. Within this collection of files, one file may be the default for permanent servers, and one may be the default for temporary servers. The default file is the file used for the server unless a different file is explicitly chosen for the given game server, or game type.
Filname: Filename to use when writing the file to the servers file system. The file name may contain variable substitutions. The most common of these is the %server:port% variable, which is a substitude for the host port of the server. This substitution ensures that each server on a host has a distinct file
File Contents: Actual file contents to be written to the server's file system. The file may contain variable property values configured for a server to be inserted into the file.
Insert Variable: for convienience, all defined variable properties are shown for a given gametype. When selected, the variable will be inserted into the file content or file name that matches that property.
Update Frequency: Tells GameCreate how often to update the file, generally this should be 'when server is started': most games will not re-read file after the server has started.
In addition to the Game Properties being available for use, there are also Special Properties which may be accessed by all servers.
